I thought I was giving a testimonial

The subject line in the email read…Litsa – Your video for approval. My stomach flipped. I needed to approve the video for Common Sense Events, they’d asked me to record a testimonial for them. There was no avoiding it. Better to rip off that band-aid then and there.

When I accepted the request, I prepared mental notes. Why I’d joined, my experience and what I’d gained from joining. This went out the window when I arrived for the taping. 🌊Matthew Murray told me that the testimonial was going to be about me. I then spent half an hour with the talented Arek Rainczuk. First, he stopped me from freaking out. Then we settled into a chat. He asked me all manner of questions about my work, how my clients feel, the process and the outcomes. Nowhere near as terrifying as I thought, chatting with Arek was like chatting with a friend.

I then conveniently forgot about it, until the email arrived last week. Our 30-minute chat was condensed into a 2.30-minute video. Tears welled up in my eyes. It was the first time I’ve seen myself talk about my work. I’m lucky enough to have fallen into a profession that I love. Eight years ago I started Brandivine, which allows me to do what I love. Work with business owners to uncover the gold that their business is built on. It’s a structured collaborative journey that unfolds one step at a time. If you have 2.30 minutes to spare, watch the video. You’ll also learn why I joined Common Sense events.
